How to List Your College Event
You've got a fest, hackathon or workshop planned. Here's how to get it in front of the 2,600+ students actively browsing FESTOOO — and turn a listing into registrations that actually show up.
Step 1 · Create your organization
Head to /organizations/new and set up a page for your club, department or college. This is your permanent home — every event you list lives under it, and returning students recognise the handle.
Step 2 · Get verified
Verified organizers get a badge on every listing and rank higher in search. Verification takes <24 hours — we check your college domain email or official social handle. Apply from the organizer dashboard.
Step 3 · Write a listing that converts
- Title: Include the format (Hackathon / Fest / Workshop) and the year. "SRM Hackathon 2026" beats "TechRush."
- Cover image: 1600×900, no small text. Faces and colour convert better than logos.
- Description: Lead with what it is, who it's for and prize/perks in the first 3 lines.
- Category: Pick one primary. "Everything" gets discovered as "nothing".
- Registration deadline: Non-negotiable. Missing this drops you out of the "Closing soon" rail — our highest-CTR surface.
- Registration URL: Deep-link to the form. Don't send students to a homepage.
Step 4 · Ride the discovery rails
A published event automatically slots into Trending Now, Happening in 7 Days, Near You (based on the student's city) and the category page. The more complete the listing, the higher it ranks. Adding a cover image and a deadline alone lifts rank by ~40%.
Step 5 · Announce and re-share
Share the FESTOOO event URL on your Instagram bio and pinned post. Every event page has a rich preview card, deep-links to registration, and works even on shared WhatsApp. Repost 2 weeks out, 3 days out and on the last day of registration.
What we don't allow
- Paid-only events without a clear price disclosed upfront.
- Fake urgency ("only 5 seats left") without a real cap.
- Reg-links that break, redirect off-topic, or force sign-up walls.
- Duplicate listings for the same event across multiple organization pages.
